There are many on-line companies who will give you ratings on your auto insurance companies, but two of the more well-known are J.D. Power and Associates and Consumer Reports. J.D. Power is a respected international opinion sampler and they have a site that rates some of the more well-known auto insurance companies, which will give you a good idea of the good ones available. It is free and can be accessed at www.jdpower.com/auto/ratings/auto-insurance. Consumer Reports also rates auto insurance companies but you have to pay a fee to access information on their web site or subscribe to their magazine. A lot of public libraries do have back issues of Consumer Reports available for consumers to peruse.
